Note:
Format phone restores phone to as if it was out of the box. Retains firmware version and operator Variant changes but wipes all applications you have installed. Does not format the memory card so any apps on there may reinstall once powered back up again.

Another way to format some symbian phones: Power off phone. Press and hold Green, * and 3 and keep them held whilst powering on and for a few seconds after.

The European Union’s Data Protection Working Party has given an express order to Google: Ditch Street View images taken in the UK after six months.
Computerworld reports that the working party found Google’s current 12-month retention time for the images to be a “disproportionate” length of time.
The party reported being “concerned that Street View continues to give rise to data-protection issues,” despite Google’s compliance with the initially laid-out requirements. It also ordered Google to give UK citizens more information and lead time surrounding when its Street View cars would be in particular areas to take photographs.
EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding said of the decision, “Google needs to raise much more awareness of Street View cars going though people’s streets as there is an option to opt out of appearing in them but no one knows about it.”
As Nokia’s Henry Tirri recently told us, the EU is known for being more outspoken about privacy issues than other regions, particularly where Street View is concerned.
For its part, Google is defending its stance on keeping the images for the year-long period. A lawyer for the company, Peter Fleischer, responded, “The need to retain the unblurred images is legitimate and justified — to ensure the quality and accuracy of our maps, to improve our ability to rectify mistakes in blurring, as well as to use the data we have collected to build better maps products for our users. We have publicly committed to a retention period of 12 months from the date on which images are published on Street View, and this is the period which we will continue to meet globally.”
In other words, we’re not quite sure yet how this one will turn out. Wordpress.

Wordpress is the biggest competitor of blogger. It is very powerful CMS that has hundreds of features available. It has a free version and a paid one. The biggest drawback of Wordpress is that its free version does not support monetization, which means you can’t make money by its free version.

Wordpress is the winner in the race of customization(tools and plugins) and features. If you want to make a blog with too many customizations I suggest you Wordpress. It works with hosted and non-hosted both the types of blogs.

Typepad.

It is another blogging platform popular now a day. It is easy to use, compatible and customizable. It has many tools by not more than Wordpress. It is not free at all you have to pay monthly fee for this CMS.

Movabletype.

It is a popular platform for team blogging, because it is very easy to setup multiple authors in the same account. It is non-hosted type of platform. Just like Typepad is also not free for use, you have to pay for the license, that is the biggest problem of this blogging platform. Its installation process is also not simple as others.

Joomla.

Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build blog. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

There are hundreds of CMS available now on Internet. Some are free and some charge you fee. A new trend is growing on the web which is social networking + blogging like myspace, facebook and xanga. Choosing a blogging platform and software is completely depends upon the question that what you are going do with your blog, why you want to make your blog and what role will your blog performs in the blogosphere so, take your time and think about it before starting you blog.

Welcome in Infopioneer, in this post I’m going to describe the basics of blogger, how to use blogger dashboard, how many functions blogger have, what each function do and so on. So lets start.

Sign in and sign out with blogger.

• First of all you have to sign in before using blogger, so go to blogger.com and enter your ID and Password in the textboxes as in snapshot.

• You can sign out from blogger by clicking on sign out as in snapshot.

Using Blogger Dashboard.

When you want to make a new post in blogger you have to go to posting tab from your dashboard by clicking on new post button. You can enter the title and post data in editor and other many more features by this new post editor. You can see a sub tab under posting tab. Some important features of posting tab are discussed under as.

New post: You can access your post editor and can make your new post by this feature.

Edit posts: You can edit your existing posts and can remove and give them a label by this feature.

Edit pages: It’s a new feature this enables you to make pages like contract us, About us and TOS pages. You can make 10 pages for each blog by this new feature and can edit them.

Comment Moderation: If you have enabled comment moderation, you can moderate your comments directly from comment moderation sub tab.

Setting tab from blogger dashboard to edit your blog settings.

Setting tab is very important in blogger platform. It enables you to change and edit your blog settings and important features.



You can see sub tabs under setting tab. Important features of blogger setting tab and its sub tabs are given below.

Basic: In this tab you can enter and change your blog title and description and can add your blog in blog directory by some features like add blog in our listing.

Publishing: you can change you blog domain name and assign it to custom domain from this sub tab.

Formatting: This enables you to change blog text colors, background and font.

Comments: The comment options are present in this sub tab.

Archiving: This enables you to make separate pages of your post, by default this feature is on.

Site feed: You can edit your blog feeds and can redirect it to feedburner from here.

Open ID: You can see your open ID user name and password here.

Permissions: If you want to setup multiple authors to a blog you can do this from this tab.

Using layout tab from blogger Dashboard.

Layout tab is also important in blogger platform. It helps you to access and change your blog layout and HTML codes. You can also change your template from here.

Page Elements: You can change your blog layout from this sub tab and can change the position of gadgets and widgets from here. You can also add new widgets by this tab.

Edit HTML: If you want to see and change your HTML codes, you should use this function.

Pick New Template: You can change you template by this function.

Note: After any change you must click on save button to save the changes that you have made.

Monetize tab from blogger dashboard – Make money with your blog.

I think every one want to make money with his blog, thankfully blogger is owned by Google and it has a money making program called Adsense, this enables every blogger to make money with his blog very easily.

Setup Adsense: This helps you to make money from adsense program, but you have to sign up for first time.

Adsense for Feeds: If you want to publish Adsense ads in your blog feeds so, this is the right feature.

Amazon Associates: This is a new feature that enables you to setup Amazon Affiliate program to your blog, your can earn commission on every sell by this feature.

I believe all of you has so many experiences of seeing so many web design when surfing in internet. I could guarantee that you often see bad web design layout more than good one. I feel the same way too, there are a lot of websites which has bad web design & layout, so i won’t comeback & bookmark them. I will share some of my experiences of seeing basic visual web design mistakes which makes me leave those websites forever.

 

1. Bad Font Usage

Do you even remember when you visit a website with fancy script font that is very hard to read? Fancy script font must not be used in body text, otherwise your reader won’t be able to read anything. Use fonts that are easy to read.
Other mistake is some people use non standard font in their websites. If their reader is only a common person who don’t have so many additional fonts, they will be confused and say, “Why is the font size in this website is very small?” I experienced this when i use non standard font for my website to enhance readability. But unfortunately, it makes people complain about my website. Just use common font like Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Georgia, or Times New Roman, which every people has in their computer.

2. No Images, Text Only

Believe me, people will be bored if they see text only & they will leave your website once they are tired of reading your ocean of words article. This is internet, not a personal development book. If you don’t have idea about what image you should add, just use any image related with your post title. Don’t leave your body text alone without any images.

3. No Paragraph On Long Articles

Even though you have inserted images on your article, you should remember to separate some sentences with a paragraph. Imagine that you are reading more than 500 words article without any paragraph on it. It’s confusing right? With some sentences separated with paragraph, people will find it easier to read your article.

4. Very Tiny Font Size

Have you ever visit a website and you have to zoom in to read the content? This is bad, make your body text at least 12pt to make sure that your body text are readable enough. If not, people will have to provide large magnifier to read your article.

5. Heavy Flash Usage

Almost any Flash usage will bring added value to your visual perception. But unfortunately, Flash usage will only make your website slower to open & it gives more chance for new visitors to leave you quickly. Reduce usage of Flash, unless it’s needed to explain something. I personally don’t really like websites which has Flash intro. They are really annoying & wasting my time.

6. Body Text Above Colorful Background

Most of good websites use plain color background to enhance its readability. If you use colorful background to make it nicer, you are absolutely wrong. It only makes people tired of reading your articles, because the body text color are blended with background image. Make your background plain & put image somewhere else where there are no text.

7. Too Many Advertisement

Have you seen a website full of banner advertisement & google adsense inside? I’m sure that you will leave that website once you have done with it, Or worse case, you will instantly hit close and move to another website. Never prioritize advertisement over content. Good websites always place advertisement in a proper places which aren’t bothering the main content of websites.

8. Unwanted Pop Ups

I always hate websites which has unstoppable pop ups. It really annoys me. I want to look for information, but the pop up interferes & wastes my time. I don’t know why, but i really hate pop ups.

9. Too Long Articles

I don’t know about you, but i don’t like too long articles. It takes you more time to write it and also make people bored to read it. Make it at most 1000 words with some image addition to make it more attractive than just a plain text. Make your words simple & understandable. Believe me, most people doesn’t like too long articles.

10. Links Color Aren’t Visible

Make sure that link color has different color with body text color. It helps your reader to identify which links they have visited and also help them not to visit the same links unintentionally.
